Digna Gerena worked at Boston University for ten years in various capacities. While working at Boston University, she completed a B.S. in Film and Television from the Boston University College of Communication. Digna is a founding member of the Boston Chapter of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers.
The thread of her unwavering commitment is exemplified in her numerous initiatives to help develop the Latino community in the business areas. In 2003, Digna Gerena founded Boston Latino TV, a monthly television program produced in cooperation with the Boston Neighborhood Network that showcases the Latino presence in English language to increase awareness among the non-Spanish speaking populations. Digna has received numerous recognitions including an honorable mention at the 2006 Hometown Video Festival's Award as well as making the list of “El Poderometro” - the top 100 most influential people in New England, 2005, 2006 and 2007 respectively.
