Cuban-American's Search for Freedom

The story of Pedro Pan is one of adversity and struggle, and of growing fast for young Cuban boys and girls who after years of separation from their parents overcame profound obstacles in order to achieve the American dream. A must attend event for young Cuban-Americans, who were born here or emigrated recently, to lean about a piece of Cuban history signifies the high price one has to pay in search of freedom and a better life.

"The Mechanic" Movie Review

"The Mechanic" is actually a remake of the 1972 film of the same name, starring then action star Charles Bronson and Jan Michael Vincent.  Whether this remake hews closely to the plot of that largely forgettable predecessor is irrelevant.  "The Mechanic" 2011 edition is great fun running on it's own fast-paced pistons.

Critic's Choice Movie Awards 2011

The bright stars of Hollywood were shining brightly at the 16th Annual Critics Choice Awards and Boston Latino TV film critic Tim Estiloz was on the red carpet to chat with the stars at this glamorous event. This award event is sponsored by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, of which Tim is a voting member. Each year, the BFCA critics honor the year's best performances on the big screen.

In this big screen update of the classic 60's TV series, Rogen plays Britt Reid, the irresponsible son of a newspaper publisher who, after his father's death, finds himself seeking new responsibility as a crime fighter.

"True Grit" Movie Review

Remaking a classic film; especially one that featured a Hollywood icon in an Oscar winning turn, is most certainly a risky undertaking fraught with creative peril, potential critical derision and possible box office failure.  However, in the capable hands of directors Joel and Ethan Coen, their careful and artfully crafted redux of the 1969 western "True Grit" is a wonderfully constructed masterwork.
