Boston MA – Over 1,000 guests attended the 22nd annual El Jolgorio Navideño, on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. This annual fundraiser for El Jolgorio de Massachusetts is the largest Latino gala in New England and serves as a vibrant way for the Hispanic community to celebrate the holidays while also raising awareness and funds to continue to support educational and cultural programs that preserve Hispanic culture.

If actor Samuel L. Jackson were writing this review of the new film "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" instead of me… Ol' Sam would quite accurately and succinctly sum up this fourth installment in the franchise this way: "Tom Cruise is one crazy mutha' ( expletive ) !!

There a disturbing new film genre that's becoming increasingly pervasive in Hollywood.  It's the kind of film where directors and actors willingly become creatively fat, lazy and complacent enough to willingly whore out their on-screen reputations for a quick easy paycheck.

The Muppets are back and in fine form in a new film that gleefully embraces the feel good nostalgia and humor of Jim Henson's popular characters; and reintroduces them to a new audience in truly marvelous fashion. The premise for this truly heartwarmingly funny film asks the question "Where have the Muppets been all these years… and are they, and their brand of squeaky clean humor, still relevant or even funny for today's arguably more jaded society?"

El Jolgorio de Massachusetts proudly announces the recipients of their annual “Tres Reyes” awards.  The honorees of the 2011 Tres Reyes awards are José Massó, civic leader and member of the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame for his popular radio show “Con Salsa”, Jenny Cintrón, Director of ABCD’s Boston Hispanic Center and Jose Buscaglia, a world-renowned sculptor.

It's impossible to imagine any actress ever coming close to capturing the stunning sexual vivaciousness, on-screen charisma and, conversely, the child-like vulnerability that so embodied the complex and legendary Marilyn Monroe. However, in the new film "My Week With Marilyn", Michelle Williams impeccably inhabits the persona of Monroe with such skillful perfection, even down to the most subtle nuance of her voice and mannerisms, it's easy to envision a possible, well-deserved Oscar nomination in Williams' near future.

You know it's not good sign for a popular film franchise installment, when an audience of it's rabidly loyal fans repeatedly break into laughter throughout a love story that's meant to be a serious, heart-tugging romantic drama. "Twilight: Breaking Dawn" is perhaps the most unintentionally campy piece of hilariously melodramatic, poorly acted and angst-ridden cinematic crapola that I've both suffered and laughed through in quite some time.

No one; no race, ethnicity, stereotype, religion nor human bodily fluid is left unexploited for sophomoric humor, insult and derision; which leaves the somewhat dubious argument that by targeting absolutely everyone with otherwise racist and un-PC jokes, it elevates this film into a higher standard of comedic filmmaking.
